Yubo’s Apple/Google Connect Feature Enables Seamless App Login with Two-Factor Verification

Yubo recently announced an Apple/Google connect feature that streamlines the login process, making the Gen Z favorite app easier to use than ever.

In today’s highly digital landscape, companies and consumers typically communicate and conduct business via online platforms. Countless websites, and a rapidly growing number of apps, draw users of all ages. Specifically, the Gen Z cohort (aged 13 to 26) prefers to handle their communications on mobile apps. Users can access these digital entities on the iOS and Android operating systems (used in smartphones and tablets).

Yubo, the live social discovery platform with a global user base, is a popular app geared to Gen Zers from many cultures. Launched in 2015, Paris-based Yubo offers an upbeat platform on which Gen Zers can chat, livestream, and play games with other same-aged users. Since its inception, Yubo’s data security team has focused on providing a safe online experience for users of all ages.

Two-Factor Authentication Offers a Solution

Two-factor authentication has emerged as a versatile solution for online security. In a nutshell, this extra security layer is designed to show that an online user is who they claim to be. To prove their point, the individual must enter their distinct username and password. Next, they must provide a detail from one category:

  • Something You Are: Iris Scan, Voice Print, or Biometric Fingerprint
  • Something You Know: A “Secret” Question’s Answer, a Personal ID Number, or a Specific Keystroke Pattern
  • Something You Have: A Smartphone, Credit Card, or Hardware Token 

If one of the two responses is incorrect, the user cannot unlock the account. This means a cybercriminal can’t access the targeted platform. From the site’s perspective, a successful two-factor authentication verifies the user’s identity and invites account access.

Until recently, phone-based two-factor authentication has been the norm. The user’s successful response triggers a code on their mobile device. Next, the user enters the code into the 2FA portal. If accepted, the user receives access to the website or app. However, users eager to access the platform often chafe at the extra time built into the phone-based 2FA protocol. Clearly, there is a demonstrated need for a faster solution.

Yubo’s Apple/Google Connect Streamlines the 2FA Sequence

Until recently, Yubo users were compelled to use the platform’s phone-based 2FA authentication protocol. However, an innovative signup/login methodology has recently become the industry standard. This spurred Yubo’s developers to offer this faster method along with the phone-based option.

The new signup/login protocol is also proven to lower SMS/text messaging service costs and increase signup funnel conversions. Quite literally, the switch has no associated downsides.

Login with Apple

OR  

Login with Username

Two Project Development Phases

Yubo’s developers will separate the Apple/Google Connect Project into two phases: 

Phase 1

  • Create necessary in-app settings
  • Integrate the Apple/Google Connect framework
  • Target active users with an Apple ID connect campaign

Phase 2

  • Complete the login flow revisions
  • Execute the signup flow revisions
